Stories and highlights
There's always something to celebrate at our school! From exciting events to proud moments and everyday wins, here are some of our highlights.
A year at our school
Luka Lesson visit
Gilgandra High School proudly welcomed international poet, rapper, and educator Luka Lesson to our school.
Luka presented a selection of his poems to each cohort and took the time to explain his craft and inspiration. Students offered thought provoking questions for him to answer.
For our senior students, Luka's visit was extra special as they will study one of his poems in their Year 12 English lessons next year.
School Captain, Jessie Riley, presented Luka with a small gift of appreciation and we wish him well for the exciting projects he has coming in the near future.

“Since joining Gilgandra High School, my daughter has truly flourished. She has been able to participate in a wide range of courses—art, music, agriculture and technology—that have sparked her creativity and built her confidence. Most importantly, she has felt a genuine sense of belonging from the very beginning. We are incredibly grateful for the supportive environment and the opportunities she has been given.” — a parent of Gilgandra High School
